Case study: Connected knowledge + knowledge areas
Connected knowledge + knowledge areas
I created architectural models to mark the knowledge areas. Search scenarios from the initial research with library visitors were reconstructed using the new building structure.
The knowledge areas in the new building are arranged and organised to keep distances short and related fields close to each other.
This was a great improvement from the old building’s scattered knowledge areas that frustrated visitors who found themselves accessing two to three floors to collect media.
I mapped search scenarios from the old library onto the new structure of the building which reveal shorter distances, and knowledge areas closer to each other.
